As a Buyer, you will support and oversee MRO purchases for plant operations. Your decisions will consider quality, price, lead-time, vendor capabilities, etc.

What You’ll Do:

  • Effectively communicate and negotiate with current and potential strategic vendors
  • Purchase required materials that support Hunter facilities from selected sources to ensure on-time delivery at acceptable levels of quality, price, and supplier support
  • Identify, quote, and award service contracts on a regular basis to ensure best quoting practices
  • Partner with both plant and supply chain management to develop an overall buying strategy to leverage total spend and efficient execution of manufacturing needs
  • Effectively communicate with multiple on-site departments and personnel gaining buy in and support for supply chain and operations projects and goals
  • Process transactional requests for manufacturing operation
  • Partner with other plant buyers in a team environment to support other projects and other site support
  • Analyze and report indirect spend to vital stakeholders
  • Keep current on industry-wide pricing trends, technological innovations, and overall market conditions through research and effective supplier interactions.
  • Ability to maintain proper inventory levels of assigned parts by working with vendors and engineering to provide guidance and solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Applied Engineering Sciences, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience required
  • Attention to detail and aptitude for working with large amounts of data and numbers with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • IFS ERP experience preferred
  • Strong communication and superior negotiation skills required
